Almost forty families were displaced due to landslides in North Kashmir’s Uri.
Reports reaching here said that families from around ten villages: Gowalta-6; Gohalan: 3; Batgrha: 3; Chiunda: 14; Thajal: 3; Sokad: 3; Sultan Daki: 5; Parantina: 1; Dachi: 1; and Garkot: 1 were displaced after incessant rains caused heavy landslides.
SHO Uri, Tabrez Ah Khan, said that J&K Police have alerted their forces and “are engaged in shifting the affected population to safer places”. “We are planning to shift them to schools or else families can shift to safer places of their relatives place.”
The roads where landslides are caused are managed by R&B, PMGSY and BEACON.
