11 Persons Injured in Road Mishaps, Body Recovered in Sopore

Eleven persons including seven students were injured in different road accidents across the valley.

In Kulgam, a Motorcycle bearing registration number JK03A-5013 driven by Bashir Ahmad Wani resident of Waltengo and an Eon car bearing registration number JK03-3863 collided at Agroo Devsar, resulting in injuries to motorcyclist.  The injured was shifted to District Hospital Kulgam for treatment. Kulgam police has registered a case in this regard.

In Handwara, a School Bus bearing registration number JK05D-7735 met with an accident at Kulangam, resulting in injuries to seven students boarding the vehicle. All the injured were shifted to Public Health Center, Chogal for treatment. Handwara police has registered a case in this regard.

In Srinagar, a Santro car bearing registration number JK01N-8212 collided with a Motorcycle bearing registration number JK01R-0195 at Basharat Colony, Nowgam, resulting in injuries to the motorcyclist and pillion mate. Both the injured were shifted to Bone and Joint Hospital Srinagar for treatment.

Meanwhile, a Tipper bearing registration number JK01D-4117 collided with an Auto rickshaw  bearing registration number JK01G-2435 at TRC Srinagar, resulting in injuries to auto rickshaw driver. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. Srinagar police has registered cases regarding these accidents.

Meanwhile, Police recovered a male body in Sopore last evening.

A male body of 49 years old Abdul Ahad Sheikh son of Abdul Jabbar Sheikh resident of Muqam Rajwar Handwara was recovered from the washroom of a Masjid of village Shalpora Sopore.

After completion of legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. Sopore police has initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC to ascertain the cause of his death.
