Labourer Dies in Anantnag, 2 Persons Injured in Road Accidents

Two persons were injured in two separate road accidents in Handwara and Bandipora.

In Handwara, a sumo bearing registration number JK09-1057 driven by Altaf Ahmad Bhat resident of Zachaldara hit and injured a pedestrian girl Subida Bilal resident of Wadipora near Wadipora. The injured was shifted to District Hospital Handwara for treatment, wherefrom she was referred to JVC Hospital, Srinagar for further treatment. Handwara police has registered a case in this regard.

In Bandipora, an unknown motorcycle hit and injured a cyclist Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat resident of Sofipora Asham at Asham Crossing in the jurisdiction of Police Station Hajin. The injured was shifted to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar for treatment. Bandipora police has registered a case in this regard.

Meanwhile two residential houses were damaged in a fire incident in Ganderbal.

Fire broke out in a joint residential house of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh and Farooq Ahmad Sheikh at Kullan Goripora in the jurisdiction of Police Station Gund. The fire also engulfed a nearby residential house of Abdul Ahad Sheikh, resulting in damage to both the structures. Fire tenders brought fire under control with the help police and locals. However, one constable Mohammad Aslam and a civilian Manzoor Ahmad Lone received injuries while extinguishing the fire. Both the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, a labourer Imtiyaz Ahmad Malik son of Jan Mohammad Malik resident of Nailtop, Banihal working in Stone-Crusher at Kandiwara in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kokernag came under debris/stones, resulting in his on spot death. After completion of legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
