J&K Bank opened two more Business Units (BU) on Tuesday, one at Islamabad in Kashmir and another at Samba in Jammu, amid gatherings of valuable customers, senior citizens, traders and local residents.
Zonal Head Kashmir South (II) Fayaz Ahmad Siddiqui inaugurated the BU at Harnag Islamabad in presence of Cluster Head Ghulam Mustafa, while as Zonal Head Jammu Central (ll) V K Sawhney inaugurated the BU at Rahya in district Samba.
Speaking at Harnag, Fayaz Ahmad said, “We are committed to extend best possible and state-of-the-art services to the people at their doorstep in every nook and corner of the state.”
In Rahya, V K Sawhney urged the local people to avail bank’s products and services, which have been tailored to meet their financial needs.
Those present on the occasion expressed gratitude to the management for opening the business unit in their area.
Meanwhile supported by NABARD under its Financial Inclusion Fund, the bank conducted various awareness camps in Baramulla and Kulgam districts.
Baramulla Camps
In collaboration with FLCC Baramulla, the bank’s business unit Sherabad organized a financial literacy camp at Village Budibugh in Singhpora wherein a large number of people comprising mostly farmers, artisans, traders, labourers and students participated.
Head BU Sherabad Javed Ahmad educated the audience about PMJDY which has been designed for comprehensive coverage of all the financially excluded households in the country besides PMJJY, PMSBY, APY and requested them to enrol themselves through their saving bank accounts to get benefited under these schemes.
Facilitator FLCC M Sultan Dar talked at length about basics of financial planning like budgeting, savings, advantages of savings with banks and documents for opening of accounts under KYC norms, Self Help Groups, Joint Liability Groups, Micro small enterprises besides loan products like Kisan credit card scheme, education loan, Mudra Loans, computer and laptop finance and other subsidy linked plans of government agencies.
Similar camps were conducted at Nowpora Kalan in Sopore, Dangerpora in Zaingeer and at ITI Baramulla in the district.
Kulgam Camp
The bank’s Lead Bank Office organized two financial literacy camps in collaboration with FLCC Kulgam at DIC Building in Towh Hall and Pahloo Kulgam. The camps were attended by a large gathering of traders, shopkeepers, growers and local residents.
Facilitator FLCC Kulgam G M Bhat informed the gathering about various banking products and financial services and urged them to inculcate the habit of savings in the banks. LDM Kulgam G N Dar also spoke on the occasion.
