Resolve Kashmir dispute and we will sit in examination, is a slogan becoming talk of the town every single day passes in Kashmir.
The school going students who are witness to mass uprising in Kashmir during last 84 days said they are “stressed” and can’t sit in examination given the bloodshed they have witnessed in their neighbourhood.
In Srinagar, scores of students held protests in Mushtaq Enclave seeking justice for those who were killed and injured in forces actions since July 09, 2016. The students holding banners slammed education minister for closing his eyes on the “brutalities on civilians by men in uniform”.
While one group was yet to leave Press Colony, another group of female students marched on Residency Road seeking justice and resolution of Kashmir. They said that how come was it justified to ask students write their examination when the same government blinded over hundred people mostly students.
In uptown areas of Bhagat and Parray Pora – the private coaching hub of Kashmir – students took to streets to protest against the killings in the on-going uprising. They would not appear in exams till Kashmir’s freedom, the protests concluded.
The students raised pro-freedom and anti-India slogans and carried placards reading, “Stop innocent killings in Kashmir”.
“Stop doing politics on exam, Exam boycott, Justice for Insha,” read the placards. “We are ready to sacrifice future for the sake of freedom.”
Later police swung into action and dispersed them, reports said.
In North Kashmir’s Sopore town, scores of students held a protest rally against government policies announcing examination to be held in November.
The students held placards, banners and marched from Boys Higher Secondary to Government Degree College Sopore rasing slogans that they won’t appear in examination until Kashmir issue will be resolved.
