Expressing concern over indifference of BJPDP dispensation towards growing problems of people, especially in the remote and far-off areas of the State, NC MLC Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo said that development has come to complete halt due to governance deficit.
Interacting with people of various areas of Kishtwar district, Kichloo particularly made a mention of utility services, saying these have been worst-hit due to lack of political direction and administrative inertia. “There is no semblance of the government on ground”, he said.
Kichloo sought immediate measures for creating buffer of rations at the far-off places which get land-locked due to snow during winters. “The availability of rations at the sale outlets has been scarce and there is need for ensuring availability of standard quality of food grains for the rationees,” Kichloo said hoping the concerned department will look into this sphere earnestly.
The former minister said the PDP and BJP were working at cross purposes as a result of which the people are suffering adversely. He said the people of the state have realised futility of reposing their trust to the coalition which has failed on all fronts.
“As a result, the entire brunt is being braved by the people, particularly those living in remote and far-off areas,” he said while referring to growing resentment among educated unemployed, as the government has failed in creating opportunities for them. “On the contrary, the measures of generating opportunities of employability during the government headed by Mr Omar Abdullah have been reversed,” he said, adding that this has further aggravated the problems of youth.
