Seeking restoration of dialogue channels and lowering of tensions on borders, Communist lawmaker, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami on Monday said that those living on Line of Control and International Border in Jammu and Kashmir are the only victims of on-going animosity between India and Pakistan

Addressing a presser at his fortified Gupkar residence, Tarigami said, “the people living along LoC and IB have been forces to flee their homes which is unfortunate.”

“Issues can be resolved through dialogue,” he said, “and all channels need to be opened for that.”

The MLA Kulgam further expressed grief over the mysterious incidents of burning school buildings.

“We cannot afford to lose future of our children,” he said, “and it is obligation on every section of our society to nab the culprits who are behind such heinous crime.”

Reiterating his demand for a judicial commission to investigate the civilian killings since the current uprising was triggered after the death of popular militant commander Burhan Wani on July 08, 2016, Tarigami said, “the government need to immediately halt arrest and ransacking.”

“Give people relief,” he said.

Tarigami further sought laying off taxes on those traders who were the worst victims in last 115 days.
