At least three shops were destroyed in a major blaze in Fruit Mani Parimpora in Srinagar on Monday.
Initial reports suggest that the shops belong to Horticulture department and the incident happened when horticulture officers were about to hold a meet with traders in the Fruit Mandi.
“The meeting could not take place when the incident happened,” sources said.
They said that blaze has destroyed all the records which were in the three shops of the building. “The data included that of import and export, revenue and other things.”
“There is only one file in the name of records,” the sources added.
“It is a mystery as how it happened,” an official said.
“Only three people including two ladies were present in the office when the flames came out of the shops,” informed sources said.
Police confirmed the incident and said all the officers are the spot.
