Yoga players stage protest against Youth Service and Sports Department

Yoga players Tuesday staged a protest against Department of Youth Services and Sports for not allowing them to participate in National Level Championship being organized in Ahmed Nagar Maharashtra.

Scores of Yoga trained players from all the districts of Kashmir Valley assembled at Press Enclave and alleged that Department of Youth Services and Sports not only wasted their time but also cheated them by dropping their team from the championship.

“We were informed by Youth Service and Sports Authorities to be ready for the championship and we have been undergoing tough training from past two months. We were shocked when at the eleventh hour we received a communiqué from the department that we can’t participate in the championship,” said a player Mariya Mubashir adding that the department cheated and played with their talent.

They alleged that the department did this all to fill their coffers. “They denied our entry to save the funds,” the players said.
