SRINAGAR
The valley Kashmir is observing a complete shutdown Friday to protest against the blasphemous sketches re-published recently in a French Magazine, Charlie Hebdo.
The shutdown call has been given by all the separatist leaders including Yasin Malik, SA Geelani and Shabir Shah.
All the shops and business establishment are closed while as traffic is off the roads.
Authorities have erected barricades in and around civil lines area to prevent people from coming on roads.
Large contingent of police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed on every nook and corner of the city “to maintain law and order”.
Authorities also detained many separatist leaders early today and put them either under house arrest or in police stations.
These included JKLF chairman, Yasin Malik, Hurriyat (G) leader Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Hurriyat (JK) leaders Shabir Shah and Nayeem Khan.
