National Front Chairman, and Hurriyat (JK) leader, Nayeem Ahmad Khan Sunday said that at a time when India is busy celebrating its Republic Day, one more Kashmiri father could not see his son who is incarcerated only because he demands freedom for his homeland.

While condoling the death of Ghulam Ahmad Mir at Barna Bhag village of Kangan, he said, “There are examples where dozens of parents passed away while waiting for their incarcerated sons to arrive but their last wish was not fulfilled by the priests of the so called democracy.”

While expressing solidarity with all such parents, Nayeem Khan said, “As long as Indian occupation on Kashmir continues such incidents will happen because the relation of chains and freedom lovers is a natural phenomenon.”

He said late Ghulam Ahmad Mir’s son, Muzaffar Ahmad Mir is jailed since more than four years. In a statement a spokesman of the party said, “Nayeem Khan was informed that late Ghulam Ahmad Mir expressed his wish to see his jailed son till he breathed.”

Khan while addressing the present gathering said that there are hundreds of Kashmiri ailing parents whose sons are behind bars and who along with other relatives are anxiously waiting for their release.

“There are examples where dozens of parents passed away while waiting for their incarcerated sons to arrive but their last wish was not fulfilled by the priests of the so called democracy,” he said.

“Keeping in view the patience of prisoners like Muzaffar Ahmad Mir, the fragrance of the blood of martyrs and the plight of the parents like late Ghulam Ahmad Mir, the resistance movement will continue till the sun of freedom rises on the horizon of Kashmir. India and its local collaborators have tested all sorts of oppression on Kashmiris and the freedom loving people are ready to face any more cruelties but will never surrender or give away their demand of freedom,” he said.
