SRINAGAR
Massive traffic jam was witnessed and traffic was disrupted for several hours on the Srinagar-Jammu highway, Wednesday following avalanches and fresh snowfall on the highway.
Sources however said that the traffic was resumed later and vehicles stranded at Qazigund and different places were allowed to move towards Jammu.
Pertinently, one-way traffic is being allowed on the highway to avoid any accident and traffic jam because of snowfall and slippery road conditions for the past one week.
Official sources said that there were few minor snow avalanches on this side of the Jawahar tunnel, forcing closure of the highway for some time.
Sources said that there was a light snowfall on both sides of the tunnel early morning.
