Rajnath Reviews JK Situation

To review overall security situation of Jammu and Kashmir, a high-level security meeting was chaired by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi.


Sources told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the meeting chaired by Rajnath, was attended by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Chief Prakash Mishra, Director General of Border Security Force (BSF) D.K Pathakh and other senior officers of intelligence, army and other forces.


“During the meeting, the Home Minister sought reports from the participants about the status of law and order, over all security arrangements in Jammu and Kashmir,” they said.


Sources said that senior officials representing different security agencies briefed the Home Minister about the required steps to be taken to maintain law and order and ensure the security plan for the coming summer.


Complimenting the role of the J&K Police and other security agencies sources quoting Rajnath said, “It is always a challenging and daunting task for the security agencies in Jammu and Kashmir but due to sincere and effective efforts of all security agencies, they are ensuring peace in the state.”


Sources said that the Union Home Minister also stressed upon better coordination among agencies and the civil administration. “To foil any attempt by troublemakers to disrupt peaceful atmosphere, close liaison should be maintained at every level and the officers supervising different components should be briefed accordingly,” sources quoting him said.


According to sources he also said that a comprehensive security grid and deployment mechanism needs to be formulated to counter any untoward incident. “The Union Minister also stressed on maintaining alertness on the borders,” they added.
