SHO among three injured in stone-hurling incident

Three government forces personnel including Station House Officer Pattan were critically injured after scores of youth attacked them with stones at Palhalan Pattan area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.


Police sources told CNS that scores of youth took to roads at Palhalan on January 26 during evening hours and pelted stones on the government forces. Police used tear smoke shells to disperse them, however, some youth cornered a police party and indiscriminately hurled stones on them.


Reports said that three government forces personnel were critically injured who were shifted to Sub District Hospital Pattan, however, one among them identified as Sub-Inspector Khurshid Ahmed was shifted to JVC hospital Bemina.


Police sources said that Station House Officer Pattan Mir Saleem was also injured in the attack and was immediately referred to nearby hospital.


“We have registered an FIR vide number 23/2015 under section 336,148,149,427,323,307 of RPC in this regard and hunt has been launched to nab the stone-pelters,” a police official said.
