#Day90: Restrictions Imposed in Saida Kadal, Hassan Abad Areas

Huge deployments of forces has been made in Saida Kadal and Hassan Abad areas in Old Srinagar

Local residents of Hassan Abad said that police and CRPF men have been deployed across the area. “WE are not being allowed to come out of our homes,” a resident said.

The residents said that a Muharram procession was scheduled to be taken out from Ashai Bagh bridge. “But it seems forces will not allow the procession to take place,” he said.

A cop from Police Station Rainawari told Kashmir Life, “we have orders from higher ups to impose restrictions in the area.” However, the cop was not sure whether orders were passed in view of the Muharram procession.

Kashmir is witnessing shutdown on 90th straight day today since the death of popular militant commander Burhan Wani on July 08, 2016.

At least 93 civilians and 15000 others have been injured in forces action. More than 7000 were arrested during mass uprising.
