#Day89: Business Resumes In Srinagar @ 5PM

KL NEWS NETWORK

SRINAGAR

Parts of Srinagar jumped to life in the evening as per the separatist troika’s relaxation even though hundreds of vendors were out since morning. There were traffic jams in the city centre Lal Chowk and also most of its up-town exits.

Officials and the footpath vendors, mostly having their hand-pulled-carts were out early morning. Most of the HS High Street and the Polo-View was visibly crowded for most of the day as vendors were out selling smaller items.

Nowhere, however, the shops were open, especially towards the main roads. All the shops selling grocery and other routine provisions within the Mohallas do open in the morning.

By later afternoon, on the day of the relaxations, the owners of the shopkeepers start reaching near their shops. Once the time approaches, it takes barely a minute for the markets to cheer up. Though there is not of the business but everything happens within a couple of hours. After two hours, there is hardly in business but the people are seen moving out on the roads.

Wednesday witnessed traffic jams in Rambagh, Jawahar Nagar, Jahangir Chowk, and Dalgate. Vehicular movement in Pantha Chowk, Batwara, Shivpora, Rajbagh and Dalgate was considerable.
