In Srinagar, a pro-freedom rally was held in Batamaloo area after mid-day prayers. The rally marched from lane to lane, however, later forces dispersed them off. Clashes erupted in the area when men in uniform lobbed tear gas canisters. Youths resorted to stone pelting but the clashes did not last for much time. In past some days, many youths have been arrested from the area.
In South Kashmir’s Islamabad and Pulwama districts, hundreds of women held pro-freedom rallies in Bijbehara and Tral areas.

Reports, however, added that women gathered again near Batnag where they were beaten by CRPF personnel resulting in the minor injuries to many.
However the women gathered again and held the rally.
“The rally was taken out successfully, despite unprovoked, shelling by forces,” said a local.
Asiya Andrabi, DeM chairperson.
Meanwhile, DeM condemned arrest of its chairperson and four other activists who were arrested in Ganderbal.
“The arrest of Asiya will not break our resolve to fight for the freedom of Kashmir from Indian occupation,” DeM said in a statement this evening.
“Aasiyeh was not keeping well for last three months and that her health was continuously deteriorating. Aasiyeh would have participated in pro-freedom programs at different places and police were after her throughout to curb her movement. She would change her locations continuously to evade the arrest. However, for the past many days police intensified the raids to arrest Aasiyeh,” Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) Secretary General Nahida Nasreen Tuesday said.
Nahida informed that Aasiyeh was arrested from Kralkhud area of Habba Kadal today.
She was accompanied by Fehmeeda Sofi at the time of her arrest. “She has been taken to an unknown location.”
Nahida said that the arrest has been made to stop Aasiyeh from reaching out to people. “The occupier is afraid of Aasiyeh,” she said.
“Four of its activists were arrested from Ganderbal after they had assembled in a local mosque to participate in the pro-freedom rally,” Nahida said.
“We appeal general masses to continue the struggle for freedom till the occupier calls it a quit. We should not feel tired and the arrests of our leaders should not let us down at any cost. This is the part of our struggle against Indian occupation,” she said
“There are ups and downs in every movement and we should overcome them for the larger cause,” she asked the people.
Meanwhile, the general secretary of DeM said that scores of its activists and well-wishers today participated in pro-freedom programs across Kashmir on the call of joint resistance leadership.
