He said that we are very proud of the contribution which Justice (Retd), Hasnain Masoodi, has made in his tenure as the Judge in the Jammu and Kashmir High Court. “Everyone knows about the judgments delivered by Hasnain Masoodi from time to time and the contribution made while delivering justice at all levels. Mr. Masoodi has been unmindful about the consequences of his judgment and what was always in his mind was the merit of the case,” Prof Mehraj ud Din Mir said.

The varsity Vice-Chancellor said that he has requested Hasnain Masoodi to be associated with the School of Legal Studies and the modalities for the same would be worked out very soon. “This is being done to get guidance and get benefit from the experience of Hasnain Masoodi on issues pertaining to Law and other related affairs,” he added.  He said the Ist batch of the B A LLB would pass out in July this year and expressed hope that they will keep the flag of the institution very high, adding that the School of Legal studies was imparting quality education to the students. Unity and diversity therefore is a concept as old as Indian civilization and is one of the greatest characteristics of India that binds its people together in one bond of humanity,” he added. He said the seminar is expected, not to restrict its focus on dynamics of “unity in diversity concept, but should also focus and discuss on the trend seen off late, as witnessed to misinterpret “unity” as uniformity and “diversity” as disunity.
