One person died while six others were injured in two separate road accidents in Srinagar and Kargil.
A police spokesperson said that in Srinagar, a conductor identified as Aaqib Hameed Darzi son of Abdul Hameed resident of Dalipora Nowhatta fell from a Mini Bus bearing registration number JK01C-5015 at Jahangir Chowk in the jurisdiction of Police Station Shaheed Gunj, resulting in injuries to him. The injured was shifted to SMHS Hospital for treatment where doctors declared him brought dead. After completion of legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. Srinagar police have registered a case in this regard.
In Kargil, a Tempo vehicle bearing registration number JK01W-5184 driven by Umar Yousuf Wani resident of Batamaloo, Srinagar collided with a Tipper bearing registration number JK07-2781 driven by Hassan Khan resident of Shakar Chiktan at Drass in the jurisdiction of Police Station Drass, resulting in injuries to six passengers including the tempo driver. All the injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital, Drass for treatment. Kargil police have registered a case in this regard.
