Iram Sayar, the Pakistani woman married to a Kashmiri from Shopian wants to see her ailing father in Rawalpindi Pakistan.

On Wednesday, she met Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti to facilitate her visit to her Pakistan.

Iram basically hails from Rawalpindi Pakistan and is married to an ex-militant Sayar Ahmad of Shopian.

The couple had to follow circuitous method to come to this part of Kashmir. They returned from Pakistan in 2012 via Nepal under rehabilitation policy for surrendered militants. They married in 2007 and have a seven year old girl child.

“Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti assured me that she will take up the matter with Union Home Minister on Friday,” Iram said.

Iram along with her husband and little daughter, Falak, met the Chief Minister at her office in Civil Secretariat early this afternoon.

Following her meeting with CM, the holed up girl has chosen to write to Government of India to grant her permission to travel to Pakistan.

In a representation addressed to Union Home Minister, Iram requests that an Indian Passport or permission be granted in her favour so that she may be able to see her ailing father.

She writes that she has received satisfactory reports from village Sarpanch and Numberdar but her file is lying under processed in the office of District Commissioner Shopian.

The issue of the Iram’s wish to see her ailing father was raised by ruling PDP MLA from Wachi, Advocate Aijaz Mir, recently in Legislative Assembly who played an important role in helping Iram meet CM.
