Two Youth Injured in Army Firing at Ashmuqam

Two youth sustained bullet injuries in south Kashmir’s Ashmuqam Tuesday after army opened fire on locals protesting a cordon and search operation in the area.

Police said the youth were injured after army opened fire on youth allegedly pelting stones on them to protest cordon.

The injured duo—Javid Ahmad Wani and Amir Ahmad Sheikh of Ashmuqam’s Sheikh Mohalla—have been rushed to Srinagar for treatment.

The condition of the duo wasn’t immediately confirmed.
