NC Convention in Tangmarg

National Conference on Thursday lashed out at the PDP-BJP alliance for bringing the State’s development to a standstill and said the political ambiguity in the State came with tragic disillusionment for those youth who had voted in large numbers in the last elections.

Addressing a party workers’ convention at Tangmarg for Block Gulmarg, party leaders said, “National Conference was ready for fresh elections and the PDP-BJP alliance should either form the Government or pave way for a fresh democratic exercise where voters could elected a popular government.”

Addressing party workers at Tangmarg, the National Conference leaders said, “PDP’s promise of ‘change’ had turned into a change towards political stalemate, negativity and hopelessness for the youth of the State.” “It has been two months since Mufti Sahab passed away and neither does PDP have the courage to part ways with the BJP nor is it showing a willingness to re-form a Government with its ally in the State. They keep proclaiming that the ‘Agenda of the Alliance’ is a ‘sacred document’ one day and the other day they say Mufti Sahab took an ‘unpopular decision’ by allying with the BJP. Then Mehbooba Mufti goes on the say that Mufti Sahab’s decision is the ‘final word’. The State’s polity has been turned into a comedy of errors by the PDP-BJP alliance,” the NC leaders said in Tangmarg.

“If PDP has in fact demanded more CBMs from the Union Government as a pre-condition to form the Government with BJP again, they should disclose what those pre-conditions are so that the people of the State can measure what PDP succeeded or consequently failed to achieve. While Mehbooba Mufti has publicly announced that PDP has sought CBMs from the Central Government as a pre-condition to Government formation with BJP in J&K, PDP Vice President and Member of Parliament Muzaffar Hussain Baigh has said no fresh CBMs were being sought from the Central Government and that PDP is more than willing to continue with BJP based on the previously agreed terms and conditions of the alliance,” the NC leaders said.

The NC Leaders passed resolutions in the convention asking for immediate roll-back of NFSA in the State, the repairs and removal of encroachments on the Ferozpura Nallah and the waiver of Kisan Credit Card loans at the end of the convention. NC Provincial Secretary Advocate Showkat Ahmed Mir led a march to the SDM Tangmarg at the conclusion of the convention and presented a memorandum to him with these resolutions seeking that it is forwarded to the Honourable Governor.
