One day training programme was held at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Bandipora Wednesday.
The training programme was aimed at sensitizing the field functionaries of the horticulture department about the scientific techniques of oil spray in orchards in light of the present weather situation, an official spokesperson said this evening. “They were also made aware about the precautionary measures being taken against various crop diseases. The orchardists on the occasion were asked to follow the spray schedule issued by the SKUAST Kashmir for the current season.”
The experts and subject matter specialists of the KVK also attended the programme.
Enforcement wing officials of Agri Deptt inspect markets to check spray oil availability
Meanwhile, the officials of the Enforcement wing of Agriculture Department, Kashmir today took stock of supply position of the situation of availability of various districts of valley.
During the inspection the team headed by District Law Enforcement Officer Baramulla and Kupwara inspected various Godowns/ outlets of Tree Spray Oil (TSO) & directed them to make available the quality products of various TSO on affordable prices.
During the inspection M/s Lone Enterprises Haiderbeigh Pattan was involved in unauthorized sale/distribution of various products of TSO and were found running business in contravention of Insecticides Act-1968 and rules made there under. A quantity of 40 litres of TSO was put under sale stop orders.
The manufacturing companies/distributors/retailers of Tree Spray Oil were asked to make availability of TSO/ Horticulture Mineral Oils (HMOs) to the orchardists on affordable prices and distributors/ dealers have been warranted of strict action if found involved in creating scarcity & black marketing. Further raids & inspections shall continue in various districts in coming days.
