‘Cyber city in the State soon’

New Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education & Youth Services & Sports Imran Raza Ansari had a meeting with Union Minister for IT & Telecom Ravi Shanker Prasad on Friday.


Various mega projects according to CNS in the IT Sector were discussed in the meeting and it was proposed to have a Electronic Cluster and a Cyber City in the State for which the Union Minister assured of full funding from the Central Government.


According to the Jammu and Kashmir Minister, the IT City thus proposed would be on the model of Hyderabad, Bangalore & Trivandrum & it will be spread on 100 Acres of land where the central share funding would be of the order of Rs 50 Crores.


It was also decided to involve main Electronic Players of India in this project so as to boost the employment & local manufacturing of the electronic items on the National specification. This would also involve medical electronics; also it was decided to develop State Wide Area Network (SWAN) in the State for which the Union Minister assured of the full funding on priority basis.
