Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, Tuesday ruled out talks with India till it accepts the five proposals put forth by the Hurriyat leadership in 2010.
Geelani was talking to media after meeting Pakistan High Commissioner, Abdul Basit in New Delhi.
“Talks between Pakistan and India could not reach a conclusion till New Delhi agreed to acknowledge our proposal,” Geelani said.
He pointed out that dialogues between India and Pakistan had happened over 150 times, but no conclusion had been reached. “This is because India, while wanting to hold talks with Pakistan, insists that Jammu and Kashmir is its integral part,” Geelani said.
He added “in 2010, we gave five points to India. First, that it should acknowledge the disputed nature of Jammu and Kashmir, second, armed forces should be withdrawn, third, AFSPA like black laws should be repealed, fourth cases should be registered against the police and CRPF for the killing 128 innocent youth during 2010 mass uprising and fifth, those detained in prisons should be released unconditionally.”
Geelani said “the day India will acknowledge all these points will be the day a fruitful dialogue will take place.”
