Union home ministry ordered withdrawal of cases, Mehbooba just signed the file, says Omar

Reacting to the reports that Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has withdrawn cases against stone pelters, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that there is no hand of Mehbooba in this development.

“Let me correct this for you – Dineshwar Sharma & Home Ministry in Delhi ordered the withdrawal of cases. Ms Mufti was left to sign the file,” he tweeted.

Earlier a government communique said that Mehbooba Mufti has approved the withdrawal of cases against 4327 youth involved in 744 cases of law and order nature.

This follows the recommendation of a high powered committee headed by Director General of Police which submitted its report to her today.
