There is no let-up in cross Line of Control (LoC) firing between Pakistani and Indian troops in Jammu and Kashmir. There is an apparent flare up in the gun fire following the army’s claim of “carrying out surgical strikes along LoC”.

O Tuesday, the border guards of India and Pakistan exchanged heavy fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district.

Reports said that firing started around 4 am today in Kalsian sector with small arms.

“Soon mortar shelling began, triggering a wave of fear and panic in the border villages,” reports said. “Both sides used small and heavy arms to target each other’s positions.”

However, there was no immediate report of any losses thus far.

Five people were injured in shelling in the adjacent Poonch district yesterday.

Thousands of people were shifted out of their homes in J&K as tensions flared up between India and Pakistan.
