Avalanche traps dozens of people in north Kashmir

SRINAGAR

A large avalanche came down the hills of Sadnatop, Monday evening resulting in the trapping of more than 20 people however more than 70 people were rescued.

Official sources said that an operation has been started on Kupwara-Tangdhar road to evacuate the trapped people.

Sources said that the area witnessed snowfall since Monday evening resulting in the avalanche.
