Amarnath Yatris to be given temporary Sim Cards in 2014

J&K Governor, N.N. Vohra Saturday released a Souvenir “PRATIBHIGYA” of the ‘Baba Amarnath and Buda Amarnath Yatri Niyas’, which contains information about various important pilgrimages in the Jammu and Kashmir, an official statement said.


The Governor, the statement said, in his address observed that every possible step is being taken by the Shrine Board to facilitate Yatris during their pilgrimage to Shri Amarnath Cave.


Referring to the progressively better facilities being extended to the yatris each year, the Governor said, “the yatris who desire to avail telecom connectivity en-route would be provided temporary Sim Card of seven days validity during this year’s Yatra. Advance weather warning system would facilitate the Board and the yatris to use the information for planning safe movement in the Yatra area.”


The statement said that on the occasion, Vohra also felicitated Navin K. Choudhary, Chief Executive Officer, Amarnathji Shrine Board, Shantmanu, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Rajesh Kumar, Inspector General of Police, Jammu, Sunil Sharma, Inspector General of Police, Security, Ajit Kumar Sahu, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Soujanya Sharma, Director Tourism, Jammu, Rajesh Gupta, Chairman, JKLTDC, Surinder Mohan Aggarwal, President, Amarnath and Buda Amarnath Yatri Niyas, P.P Sachdeva, M.D. Shalimar Cattle Feed, Dewan Bansal, President, Aggarwal Sabha, Jammu, Balwan Singh, Editor,“ PRATIBHIGYA”, for their contributions towards the smooth conduct of Amarnath and Buda Amarnath Yatra, 2013 at a function organized by ‘Baba Amarnath and Buda Amarnath Yatri Niyas’, at Hotel Ashok in Jammu.


It added that the Governor advised the Niyas to work out a comprehensive plan for the facilities to be provided to the Buda Amarnath Yatris.
