Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) while paying tributes to Advocate Jalil Andrabi on his death anniversary said that government forces killed the legend only because he was a great advocate of rights of the people of Jammu Kashmir.
The spokesman said that Advocate Jalil Andrabi was a great human rights activists and a strong supporter of the freedom movement. Andrabi, was first kidnapped and then killed by government forces.
The spokesman quoted the JKDFP saying, “ Shaheed Advocate Jalil Andrabi laid his precious life for a sacred cause and it is now our responsibility to take his mission forward.”
The Nation is indebted to the great people like Shaheed Advocate Jalil Andrabi. We will leave no stone unturned in order to fulfil their sacred mission of freedom, JKDFP said.
The party said that role of Shaheed Advocate Jalil Andrabi will always be written in golden words. He was a great professional and was martyred only for being a freedom loving person.
The body of forty-two-year-old Jalil Andrabi, a human rights lawyer and pro-freedom activist, was found in the Kursu Rajbagh area of Srinagar on the banks of the Jhelum River on the morning of March 27, 1996. He was kidnapped on March 8, 1996, by government forces when he was travelling in his car near Rambagh area of Srinagar. He was tortured for days together by forces and later killed.
Meanwhile, JKDFP strongly condemned the nocturnal forces raids in Sopore and Tahab. The party also condemned the arrests and use of force against protesters.
