Srinagar
Residents of Ziyarat Sharief Batamaloo on Tuesday have expressed resentment over the dilapidated road in the area.
A delegation from the area said that post-2014 floods, the road had completely damaged. They said they have been demanding macadamization since then. However, authorities did not undertake repairs, they said.
The delegation said due to uneven surface and potholes, several vehicles have been damaged.
“During rains, the whole stretch turns into mud and we face problems to even venture out of our homes. We make a fervent appeal to minister for roads and buildings to look into the matter and direct the concerned authorities to undertake repairs of the road at the earliest,” they said.
The delegation also registered protest against non-fulfilment of “promises” made to them by local MLA to macadamize the nearly one-kilometre road stretch from Ziyarat Sharief up to the Unani hospital. (GNS)
