A 55-year-old woman died after she was hit by a speeding car on the Srinagar- Jammu highway near Awantipora road under the limits of Awantipora police station area on Thursday afternoon.
The police have identified the victim as Raja Begum, wife of Ghulam Mohi ul deen Bhat resident of Charsoo Awantipora was critically injured after she was hit by Santro car near Kadlabal Charsoo, an official told Kashmir Life.
A profusely bleeding Raja was rushed to the hospital where she was brought dead.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
