Police arrested an Army personnel and a Village Defence Committee (VDC) member for allegedly firing shots and triggering panic among the people in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The duo was arrested Targie area of Kotranka belt of the district last night, Darhal police station SHO Kuldeep Raj said.
The duo – Territorial Army man, Liyaqat Ali and VDC member Tariq – told police that they fired in view of suspicious movement of two armed persons, but when Army and Police conducted search operation in the entire area, they found nothing as much.
The weapons of the duo have been seized and a case registered against them, the SHO said.
