Expressing deep grief, sorrow and anguish over the mysterious disappearance and killing of a Mandarbagh youth, Hurriyat Conference (g) Monday demanded impartial investigation into this incident.
While expressing sympathy and condolence with the affected family of the deceased youth, Hurriyat (g) spokesperson in a statement said, “the disappearance and mysterious killings of Kashmiri youth has become a routine from last 25 years and no investigation has been conducted in those incidents till date. This incident should be impartially investigated so that the doubts of his family could get cleared.”
He also expressed its concern over the crackdown on the youths of the Srinagar and said that they are being subjected to third degree torture in the police stations.
Hurriyat (g) also condemned in strong words the crackdown and search operation by the army in the Howra Mishipora area of the Kulgam district and alleged that the forces were frustrated that is why they are harassing and using excessive force against the common people of Kashmir.
“Different delegations from different areas today came to the Hurriyat head office and apprised about the atrocities and cruelties unlashed upon them by the Indian army. According to the locals the 9-RR and 1-RR situated at Chinigam Qaimu camp today morning cordoned off the entire area of Howra Redwani and dragged the youths from their houses and thrashed them and also vandalized the houses of the localities. The Indian army doesn’t even speared the women flock and a Safia named lady was dragged and beaten by the cruel soldiers of the Indian army while as Adil Ahmad from Koujar and Bilal Ahmad from Howrah were arrested on the spot and Mushtaq Ahmad Lone and Sabzar Ahmad Lone were beaten to pulp by the army,” the Hurriyat (g) statement claimed.
While strongly condemning these proactive activities of the Indian army, he said, “Harassing a common man on the gun point is not any kind of bravery and these cruelties have neither deterred us in the past and nor will it stop us to achieve our goal in the future also.” (KNS)
