Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Abdul Haq Sunday on the instructions of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed visited the residence of Mohammad Jabbar of Breenty, Batapora who was killed in a grenade attack at Anantnag yesterday.
The Minister expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and also prayed for peace to the departed soul, an official spokesperson said.
The Minister handed over an ex-gratia cheque of Rs 1 lakh to the next of kin and also announced assistance to the family under IAY.
The Minister was informed that the deceased is survived by two daughters and a handicapped wife, who need to be supported financially.
The Minister assured the bereaved family that the Government would take adequate measures for their financial support.
