MLA Langate Er Rashid Thursday strongly criticized union Home Minister Rajnath Singh for his “colonial attitude” towards Kashmiris.
While reacting to Home Minister’s revelations made at Jammu yesterday, Er Rashid said that Rajnath Singh may not be able to speak out the truth for obvious reasons, but none other than him knows the history better and there is no dispute about J&K not being disputed .
In a statement, Er Rashid asked Rajnath Singh that rather crying hoisting of Pakistani flags in Kashmir, Singh and all those who matter should introspect that why GOI has not been able to defeat the love and sympathy for Pakistan in Kashmir.
“It is not Geelani or Masarat Alam but the common Kashmiris who raise Pakistani flags and they don’t seek permission to do so from Geelani or someone else. It clearly indicates that despite its entire military and political efforts GOI has not been able to change the mindset of Kashmiris,” he said.
MLA Langate asked Rajnath Singh to restrain from passing Fatawas: what is Islamic and what not.
“Those who demolished Babri Masjid, seek ban on Halal beef, are busy doing so called Ghar Wapsi, want to make India a Hindu Rashtra, call Muslims ‘Haramzade’, deny Muslims jobs and accommodation in their own country for being Muslims and shamelessly draw Quran and Shariah to courts, have no legal and moral right to interpret Islam and Islamic laws,” he said. “Let Rajnath Singh understand that Kashmiris have not sacrificed everything to beg for a so called dialogue to get some minor concessions within the ambits of Indian constitution but want resolution of Kashmiri dispute within the parameters of historic perspective. Let Mr Singh fully understand that Kashmiris are fed up with the word dialogue and they understand better that the GoI by its arrogance and mistrust has destroyed the institution of dialogue and Kashmiris have fully understood that GOI uses dialogue process to buy time and humiliate Kashmiris.”
The writing on the wall clearly reads, he said, that Kashmiris are not impressed with these petty offers and there will be no takers whosoever to talk with state or the centre Govt, “unless the talks are started without preconditions and also without involving all the three parties.”
“Rajnath Singh by reiterating that Mufti Govt will identify land for separate townships soon has eroded the credibility of Mufti Govt further and there is every reason to believe that New Delhi trusts nobody accepts itself when it comes to Kashmir.”
