Taking notice of threatening of the family members of seven innocent persons who were killed in Sadarkoot Bala Bandipora by former renegade (Ikhwani) Rashid Billa, All Parties Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani, demanded arrest and registration of FIR against him.
Hurriyat Conference (G) statement said, “the pro-Indian political parties have not only given a space and shelter to these murderers but they have helped them to reach to the floor of the assembly and have tried to hide their serious crimes.”
“The Hurriyat Conference has taken the media reports very seriously according to which the former government gunman of Hajin, Rashid Billa, is pressurizing the affected families of the Sadarkoot Bala Bandipora massacre to withdraw case against him whose kin were brutally killed in the joint operation of Indian army and these government gunmen in October 1996. The families of the murdered persons have moved the high court against the perpetrators of the 19 years old massacre and have demanded for punishment to the culprits,” the statement said.
The statemet said that Rashid Billa is an accused in the said incident and that is “why he is threatening the affected families to withdraw the case otherwise he will again become an Ikhwani and will kill them all like he did with their kin 19 years ago”.
“The threat of the said Ikhwani has come immediately after the recent statement of Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar in which he had hinted towards the re-activation of the government gunmen culture in the state to tackle the militancy and had said that the target killings will be started in Kashmir.”
The statement criticized the pro-Indian political parties for giving “shelter to these killers and murders” and said, “the National Conference, Congress and PDP like pro-Indian parties for very meager benefits adopted these Ikhwanies and provided a political protocol for them. Kuka Parray and Javaid Shah, Usman Majeed like person was elevated to higher positions who are involved in number of criminal activities which have never been investigated till date.”
“Hurriyat Conference is closely monitoring the case of Sadarkoot Bala massacre and want to assure the families of the deceased persons that the whole nation is at their back in their fight for justice. They need not to worry or fear and if they again received any kind of threat, immediately inform the hurriyat office and we will try to highlight it in every possible way,” the statement said.
