Foreshore Road Residents on Shutdown Mode Against LAWDA’s Demolition Drive

The areas falling around Foreshore Road in Srinagar are observing a complete shutdown Saturday against the demolition derives carried by Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA).

Report said that people from Nishat, Telbal, Naseem Bagh are observing hartal againt the move.

“People are protesting against the demolition drive,” said Mushtaq Ahmad, a resident of Nishat. “We are not being allowed to carry any construction or anything like that as we fall near Green Belt zone.”

The residents added that they are being evacuated from their homes.
