Div Com Reviews Regulation of Private Tuition Centers

For improving the basic infrastructure and other facilities being provided to the students opting for private tuition in the Valley, the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Asgar Hassan Samoon today convened a high level meeting here.

“It was given out in the meeting that the Committee headed by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir shall allow tuition centres and coaching centres that have been closed in terms of order passed by the Court on December 30, 2014 to open only after they are duly registered by the competent authority,” an official statement said Saturday evening.

The Committee shall monitor the basic infrastructure of the tuition centres and other facilities being provided to the students which include details of tuition fee, separate toilet facilities for boys and girls, proper heating arrangements, proper space, drinking water facilities besides installation of CCTV cameras and reservation of free admission upto 10% of the total intake capacity in each class/course for the students who are destitute, orphans or belong to BPL category, the statement said.

“The Committee shall furnish compliance report for taking appropriate action against those centres who do not comply with the J&K Regulation of Private Tuition Centre Rules, 2010 issued by the Government in this regard,” the statement informed.

Deputy Commissioners’ of Srinagar, Shopian, Bandipora, Kulgam, and Ganderbal, Director School Education, Kashmir, Additional Deputy  Commissioners’Baramulla, Budgam, Pulwama, Joint Director School Education Kashmir, S.P City South Srinagar, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Islamabad, Kupwara and representative of Police Department participated in the meeting.
