Police arrested a drug peddler in Kralpora area and recovered Cocaine Rs 35 Lakh, approximately, from him while one quintal of Fukki was recovered from a truck in South Kashmir’s Qazigund area.
“Acting on a specific information regarding a drug peddler roaming in the Panzgam area in Kralpora. A police party led by SHO Kralpora Showkat Ahmad Mir rushed to the area. The police party noticed a suspicious movement of a person near Primary Health Centre Panzgam. The police party succeeded in nabbing the suspect who was later identified as Shabir Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Samad Sheikh resident of Sonthipora Kralpora,” a police statement said Sunday evening.
Upon his search police recovered 820gms of cocaine having market value of Rs 35 Lakh, approximately, from his possession, the statement said. “The accused was arrested and a case FIR No. 35/2015 under section 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered in against him.”
The statement further said, “a naka was laid by SHO Qazigund Parvez Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Qazigund Ashfaq Aalam at Damjan Morh on Srinagar-Jammu Highway. During the naka a LP Truck bearing registration number PB09G/9824 tried to flee away from the naka. The naka party chased and intercepted the fleeing truck near Mughal Gund on the National Highway. During the search of the truck one quintal Fukki was recovered from it. The driver Palvider @ Harjinder @ Laadi Singh son of Jasbir Singh resident of Pindh Kathe Hoshiarpur Punjab was apprehended.”
A case FIR No 89/2015 under section 15/18 NDPS Act has been registered against him and investigation is on. Initial investigations revealed that the driver was earlier arrested by Plath Police Station in Kapurthala District in a narcotic case and was recently released from Police Station Plath, Punjab after four years, the statement concluded.
The statement further mentioned that one person died while four others were injured in different road accidents in the valley.
A Bus bearing registration number JK13/3815 hit a pedestrian Ghulam Mohammad Bhat son of Ghulam Nabi resident of Ajas Bandipora near Chimpazpora Ajas, resulting in his on spot death. Bandipora police has registered a case in this regard.
A CRPF vehicle hit a Motorcycle bearing registration number JK04C/6687 near Petrol pump Chadoora, Budgam resulting in injuries to motorcyclist Javed Ahmad Najar resident of Kheri Gund. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. Budgam police has registered a case in this regard.
A Tata 407 bearing registration number JK01F/1511 and a Tempo traveler bearing registration number JK20/2885 collided at Dursuma, Ganderbal resulting in injuries to 03 passengers. All the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment. Ganderbal police has registered a case in this regard.
