Islamabad village residents allege Army highhandedness

Residents of Dialgam village of southern district of Islamabad on Wednesday alleged that Army ransacked properties and beat the locals.

Locals while speaking to Kashmir Life said that after some youth pelted stones on and army caravan in the main market the soldiers returned after sometime and started abusing and thrashing people.

“They beat some shopkeepers and stopped vehicles on road and started parading and ruthlessly beating youth,” locals alleged.

“Later the army men also vandalized property and broke window panes spreading terror in the village,” they said.

Dilagam is around five kilometers away from district headquarters Islamabad and is situated on road that leads to famous tourist destinations Verinag and Kokernag.

Locals also alleged that some of the people who were returning from picnic were also asked to come down from vehicles and were later beaten.
