Gandola cable derailment led to six deaths in Gulmarg

SRINAGAR: With more details emerging from Gulmarg, it is now clear that five persons including four tourists were killed. In fact the accident killed an entire tourist family, a resident of Delhi.

Reports said the accident took place because of the cable derailment from the pulley. As the concerned are investigating the cause, it was not immediately known if the cable derailment was the outcome of speedy winds.

The killed tourists were identified as Jayant Andraskar son of Namdev, a resident of B-209, Delhi Administration Staff Quarters at Shalimar Bagh, his wife Manshea, Angna, their daughter,  and Janvi, their another daughter.

Local guide Mukhtar Ahmad Gani, a resident of Chonti Pathri, Baba Reshi has also died.

There are reports that another local who was also in the Gandola has died but it was not immediately confirmed. Unconfirmed reports identify the sixth dead man as Bilal but nobody from governmnet is confirming it
