Parra delivers keynote address at IIM Rohtak; Says, ‘Kashmir a human issue’

Stressing that positive management can prevent conflict escalations, Peoples Democratic Party youth president, spokesperson and secretary state sports council Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra on Friday said that management students are future brains of country and “we expect them to find ways to win people, youth and not the ideas to defeat each other.”

Parra was speaking during the keynote address at IIM Rohtak during the inauguration of its PGP program. IIM Rohtak is the 8th IIM established by Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

The program was attended by a huge gathering including Professors, Students, academicians and other distinguished guests.

Speaking on the occasion Parra extensively talked about the management of youth, conflict and governance. He emphasised that the issue of Kashmir is a human issue and not a problem of land and infrastructure.

Parra stressed on how corporate world can help in resolving the conflict and said that security approach to the Kashmir problem will not work.

“We need to find alternate ways to tackle the issue. Big corporate houses can play a pivotal role in helping us achieve the same.”

Parra also highlighted as to how the mainland Indian media was adding to the Kashmir problem. “National media is playing a very negative role viz-a-viz Kashmir,” Parra said apparently referring to the prime time tv debates on national media.

The PDP youth leader said that the management students have to be the part of conflict resolution and that their coordination will help imrove the situation in the state. “IIM students are part of solution and not part of problem. Your Coordination with politics will improve resolution and public grievance system,” he told the gathering.

Parra hoped that IIM Rotak will help Jammu and Kashmir government in youth policy.

Others who participated in the program include, Dr Subramanian Swami, Member of Parliament, Dr Satyapal Singh, Member of Parliament and Capt Abhimanyu Singh, Finance Minister, Government of Haryana.
