Girl student drowns, 3 others rescued as flash floods hit Bhaderwah

Srinagar

One girl student who was suffering from polio was washed away by the strong currents of river Neeru in a village of Bhaderwah while three other students were rescued after flash floods hit the area on Friday morning.

Officials said that the students were heading towards their college when they slipped from a wooden log while crossing the flooded Neeru river.

A rescue operation was launched immediately to rescue the girls.

“Three girls were rescued and shifted to Sub-District Hospital Bhadarwah.”

The drowned girl has been identified as  Sheetal Bharti  daughter of Satish Kumar resident of Trown Doda.
