Amarnath Yatris on way to the cave shrine Thursday unfurled the tri-colour at Pahalgam before heading for the journey.
Reports quoting witnesses said that Yatris also raised slogans like “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” on the occasion.
The annual yatra started from today amid tight security and the first batch comprised of 2,481 pilgrims reached Kashmir.
Official sources said that while 1,616 pilgrims reached Pahalgam, 865 reached Baltal.
