Dialgam encounter: Family cornered in house, locals allege

The residents of Dialgam village of Islamabad district in southern Kashmir, where and early morning gunfight between forces and militants is raging, on Saturday alleged that the forces are not allowing the family to come out of the house where the encounter is going on.

The residents said: “Besides, forces are using civilians as human shields.”

Talking to Kashmir Life at DH Islamabad, the locals accompanying the injured to teh hospital said that forces are using civilians as human shield.

The forces are not even allowuing people trapped in the house where militants are holedup to come out, the residents alleged.

Top police officials, who spoke anonymously to Kashmir Life, said that militants have taken some civilians as hostage.

Meanwhile, authorities have snapped the mobile internet services in the district.

Official sources said that mobile Internet services were suspended to prevent the spreading of rumours on the social networking websites.

Pertinently, a woman was killed while several others were injured during the clashes with forces near the encounter site. Many injured have received bullet injuries.
