Div Com asks Varsity, BOSE to Declare Results, Issue Forms, Receipts, in Urdu too

Continuing with its mission to promote Urdu language in the state, the administration has directed several departmental heads to issue forms, receipts and other documents in Urdu language.

According to the official document in possession of KNS, Divisional Commissioner, Dr Asgar Samoon has instructed Director School Education Kashmir, Dr Shah Faesal to direct all the educational institutes to publish magazines which should include Urdu section as well.

Samoon directed Director Technical Education Department and cultural Academy to restart Urdu stenography or calligraphy training courses in order to promote official language. “JK BOSE chairman has been ordered to devise a simple Urdu syllabus which will make the subject interesting for aspirants of various classes. University as well as BOSE has been directed to ensure bi-lingual language in their marks cards,” document reads.

According to the document, Samoon has also directed Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Bank to make use of Urdu language especially in withdrawal, receipt forms and cheque books to facilitate common people who don’t know English language.

“President of Private School Association Kashmir has been directed by the higher authorities that all the educational institutes shall erect sign boards in Urdu language in all schools and have been asked to take lead in promoting Urdu by issuing forms in official Language,” document reads.
