Terming the advocacy of the JK’s autonomy and dialogues with Pakistan by National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah and former Chief Minister Omer Abdullah as vote bank politics and delude, Hurriyat (g) said that whenever NC is out of power they suddenly start to remember the state’s autonomy and the betrayal of India and also start to talk about friendship with Pakistan and the resolution of Kashmir but when they are in the government, they not only hate to talk about the word “autonomy” but Farooq Abdullah also suggests India to attack Azad Kashmir and occupy that region too.
Hurriyat Conference (g) said that this kind of politics of National Conference had now become outdated and barring some of its party activists nobody else is taking them seriously.
While advising the NC leaders to fear Almighty Allah and show some remorse, Hurriyat (g) spokesperson in a statement issued here said that had they been a bit sincere and honest in their claims with regarding to the JK’s autonomy, it would have been restored a long time ago. National Conference was once enjoying a two-third majority in the state assembly. They could have passed a simple bill and would have restored the autonomy of the state but they didn’t do that because their first and last goal was power and chair and for that they would never dare to take any risk.
“Since they are out of power today so raising slogans of autonomy is their old tradition and a compulsion too. They once again want to befool the people of the state by their sweet-talks and they don’t feel “ashamed” by doing so again and again.”
The spokesperson said that there is no moral justification in the autonomy demand of National Conference now. According to the autonomy the state has to elect its own Prime Minister and the founder of this party late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah had “compromised” over the state’s Prime Ministership and “surrendered” it before the Indian rulers so the Abdullah duo have no justification today to befool public over the issue which they and their party have buried some 41 years ago.
The statement said that today Farooq Abdullah is showing his “Big Heart” by suggesting the merging of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan with Pakistan but while in power he had many times advised India to bombard Azad Kashmir and extend its “illegal and forced occupation” to that region too. He has a variable policy which can change anytime and in any direction.
While terming the Kashmir statement of the Andhra Pradesh MP Varaprasad Rao in the parliament as open expression of the reality, Hurriyat (g) spokesperson said that the voices rising in the Indian parliament after the JNU and other Indian universities is a clear proof of this fact that the people of India are gradually understanding the “Reality of Kashmir” and they are differing with the Kashmir policies of their rulers. “It is very pleasing and encouraging for the Kashmiri nation and it has added a new life to the freedom sentiments of Kashmiris.” (KNS)
