SRINAGAR

Hurriyat Conference (G) general secretary Ghulam Nabi Sumji Tuesday filed a complaint in the court of chief judicial magistrate Srinagar against former Chief Minister Omer Abdullah and the former police officer Ashiq Hussain Bukhari “who are main accused of the 2010 killings.”

“The court directed the S.S.P Srinagar to conduct inquiry in detail in this matter and submit the said report before it till the April 6. The complaint was filed by the senior high court lawyer advocate Mohammad Shafi Reshi on behalf of Sumji and the public relation secretary of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Altaf Ahmad Shah supported it,” a Hurriyat (G) spokesman said in a statement to KNS.

He said Hurriyat Conference (G) in a meeting had decided to register a criminal case against Omer Abdullah and Ashiq Bukhari “for the innocent killings of 2010 and will try to bring the murderers of the innocent students to justice.”

“In this regard a complaint was today filed in the court of CJM Srinagar in which the Judge V.S. Bhou directed the S.S.P Srinagar to enquire into this matter and report back to the said court till April 6. We will pursue this case till the justice is done and if need arises we can take this to the state high court. All the youths of 2010 were killed in target firing and it wasn’t any case of accident. During the so-called election campaign of 2014, Omer Abdullah had many times said that the former S.S.P Srinagar Ashiq Hussain Bukhari is responsible for the killings of 2010 and then the same police officer confessed in the media that whatever he did, it was on the directions of Omer Abdullah and for doing this he (Ashiq Hussain Bukhari) had also received rewards from him,” the spokesman claimed.
