An automobile mechanic is dead after the altercation occurred in Ranger stop Saida Kadal area of Srinagar on Saturday afternoon.
An official said that automobile mechanic identified as Tahir Ahmad a resident of Batamaloo was punched to death by Sofi Imran of Latti Mohalla Dal after they had some altercation.
The deceased was working at automobile workshop near Ranger stop Saida Kadal.
He said that the body of the deceased has been taken to police control room Srinagar for postmortem.
He said that a case has been registered and further investigations were taken up in this regard.
